New York ranks #7 for Most Educated State in America
The pandemic has caused unparalleled disruptions to our country’s education system and mass migration of people. To dive into which states are coming out on top, the scholarship website Scholaroo conducted an in-depth analysis of 2022’s Most & Least Educated States in America. To identify the most educated states in the country, Scholaroo’s analysts compared educational attainment levels and the quality of schools in all 50 states. The data set contained 19 metrics ranging from the share of college graduates to the share of vocational school graduates to literacy and numeracy rates. A well-educated population is a key factor in driving economic prosperity to the nation. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, a typical American worker with a bachelor’s degree earns on average $26,000 more per year than a worker with just a high school diploma. New York ranks #7 with 68.75 points and ranks 5th for Educational Attainment and 6th for School Quality. The state also ranks #4 in Best School System in America, #3 in the share of Doctorate Degrees, and #5 in the share of Masters's Degrees in the nation. At the top is Massachusetts with 84.45 points ranking 1st for Educational Attainment and School Quality.
