Knife-Wielding Homeless Man Arrested after Entering North Lawrence Amazon Warehouse

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a homeless man for a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 6:49 am in North Lawrence.
 
According to Detectives, a twenty eight year old female security guard working in the Amazon warehouse located at 253-51 Rockaway Boulevard observed the defendant, Aubree  Thompson, 35, no known address, standing in the warehouse holding a black knife. 
 
The security guard told the defendant he was not allowed in the building at which point the defendant ran off further into the facility. The security guard dialed 911 for police assistance. 
 
Upon police arrival fourth precinct officers located the defendant in the second floor of the parking garage and after a brief foot chase police were able to place the defendant into police custody without further incident. There were no injuries reported.
 
Defendant Thompson is being charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. 
 
He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 14th, at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
