Suffolk Police, Firefighter Rescue Man from Car Submerged in Patchogue Bay

A Suffolk County Police Officer and a member of the Patchogue Fire Department rescued a man who was trapped in his car after it became submerged in Patchogue Bay this morning.
 
Nestor Riosarvealo was driving a 2017 Nissan Sedan on South Ocean Avenue at Mascot Dock when the vehicle went off the dock into the water at 5 a.m. Fifth Precinct Police Officer Edward Pitre, along with Patchogue Fire Department member Peter Feehan, dove into the water, broke one of the car’s windows, pulled Riosarvealo from the vehicle and brought him safely to shore.
 
Riosarvealo, 33, of Patchogue, Officer Pitre, and Feehan were transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, treated for minor injuries, and released.
