Long Island, NY - June 15, 2016 - It’s a big kick-off concert weekend at historic Forest Hills Stadium in Queens and once again Long Island Rail Road customers have a convenient way to the venue to see some of the summer’s hottest acts.

The LIRR will be making extra stops at Forest Hills Station, just a short walk from the stadium, for the Mumford & Sons concerts on Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17, as well as Disclosure Presents Wild Life concert on Saturday, June 18.

Forest Hills Stadium opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday nights with bands playing from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Between 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., three eastbound trains will make an extra stop at Forest Hills Station and five westbound trains will make an extra stop at Forest Hills Station. For customers leaving Forest Hills Station between 8:30 and 11:30 p.m., LIRR will make extra stops on five eastbound trains and four westbound trains.

Forest Hills Stadium opens at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday night with bands playing from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Most trains, both eastbound and westbound, passing Forest Hills Station between 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and again between 9:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. will stop at Forest Hills Station.

LIRR customers are reminded that only the first four cars of their train will open at Forest Hills Station. Riders should board the train using one of the first four cars to minimize delays that can occur when passengers have to walk through multiple cars to exit.

Customers are also reminded that tickets will be collected when they arrive at Forest Hills Station, so they should take their tickets with them when leaving the train and have them ready for presentation.
