AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following areas: All five boroughs of New York City, and Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Arrest in Westbury Smoke Shop for Selling THC Gummies to Underage Undercover Agent

Narcotics Vice Squad Detectives were investigating the non-fatal overdose of two females, 16, who had ingested gummies containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a man at 9:20pm on Wednesday June 15, 2022 in Westbury.

Narcotics Vice Squad Detectives were investigating the non-fatal overdose of two females, 16, who had ingested gummies containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). 

That investigation led Detectives to the Carman Exotics Smoke Shop located at 811 Carmen Avenue Westbury. 

On June 15, 2022 at 9:10pm Defendant Ahmed Al Maghrebi Maher, 31, of 307 E 119th Street 1b, New York, NY did sell THC gummies and a vaping device to an underage undercover agent. 

At 9:20pm the defendant was taken into custody without incident.

Defendant Ahmed Al Maghrebi Maher is charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.  He will be arraigned on June 16, 2022 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
