Police: Three Juveniles - aged 13, 14, and 17 - Busted for Attempted Burglary of Merrick Bicycle Shop

The First Squad reports the arrest of three male juveniles for an Attempted Burglary that occurred on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 10:35 p.m. in Merrick. 
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to Merrick Bicycles, located at 1829 Merrick Avenue, for a Burglary in progress. Officers located and arrested three male juveniles: 13, 14, and 17 years old, at the scene without incident. Subsequent to the investigation, Detectives determined that the 13 and 17-year-old juveniles were responsible for two additional Burglaries, which occurred at the same business on Friday, May 24, 2024 and Saturday, June 8, 2024. 
 
The 13-year-old male juvenile is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and released. 
 
The 14-year-old male juvenile is charged with Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree. He was issued an appearance ticket and released. 
 
The 17-year-old male juvenile is charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree, Petit Larceny, Possession of Burglar Tools, and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, June 17, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
