Smithtown, NY - June 16, 2015 - At a recent meeting of the Smithtown Rotary Club, Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta congratulated Police Officer Dennis Hendrickson of the Fourth Police Precinct for being this year’s recipient of the Smithtown Rotary’s 46th Annual Peter J. Biegen Award. This Award was named after Officer Pete Biegen of the Fourth Police Precinct who spent his life serving others, as well as being actively involved in his community.
Officer Hendrickson joined the Suffolk County Police Department in 2006 and has been a member of the Med-Cat team since 2007. For the past four years, he has been assigned to the Community Support Unit. In addition to these responsibilities, he is a co-coordinator of the Police Explorer Program. Officer Hendrickson is also a member of the Manorville Fire Department and previously was Chief of the Syosset Fire Department. “As a retired Suffolk County Detective, I know first-hand of the hard work and commitment that is involved in being a police officer and I commend him and all of the members of the Suffolk County Police Department for the work and time they spend protecting the residents of Suffolk County,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta.
