Policer Officer Assaulted in Oceanside

The Fourth Squad reports on the arrest of a Brooklyn man for the Assault on a Police Officer that occurred on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 3:10 AM in Oceanside.
 
According to Detectives, defendant Julian Lynch, 28 of 121 Hancock Street entered into a 7/11 located at 475 Merrick Road. Once inside, he initiated a verbal altercation with a 36-year-old male employee and walked around the counter and hit the victim multiple times with a closed fist in the eye, causing him to hit his head on the counter and fall to the ground.
 
Defendant Julian Lynch left the scene prior to
Police arrival on foot. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for lacerations, swelling and bruising on his head. Defendant Julian Lynch then entered into a CVS located at 598 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, where he initiated
another verbal altercation with a 31-year-old male employee demanding his belongings. Officers arrived at scene and attempted to place defendant Julian Lynch under arrest, at which point he initiated a physical struggle with the Officers.
 
Defendant Julian Lynch did strike an Officer with a closed fist in his right eye, causing substantial pain. Defendant Julian Lynch and the Officer were both transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment.
 
Defendant Julian Lynch is charged with Assault 2 nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, Attempted Robbery 3rd degree, Menacing 3rd degree, Criminal Trespassing 3rd degree
and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
 
After conducting a thorough investigation by First Squad Detectives, defendant Julian Lynch was found to also be responsible for Criminal Mischief at the following locations on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Jiffy Lube – 598 Merrick Road, Baldwin
 
Defendant Julian Lynch is charged with two counts of Criminal Mischief 3rd degree and Criminal Mischief 4 th degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, June 18,
2022 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
