Suffolk County Police First Precinct officers rescued an injured egret that was unable to fly or walk in West Babylon.

A resident called 911 to report that an injured egret was on his neighbors’ front lawn, limping and unable to fly. First Precinct Officer Matthew Garcia, along with Emergency Service Officers Dave Katzen and Keith Charley, responded and were able to secure the egret with a net and transport it to a local animal hospital for treatment.

When the egret is fully recovered it will be returned to the wild.
