Discover Long Island Secures Multiple Prestigious Award Wins in First Half of 2024

Discover Long Island, the region’s only accredited destination marketing organization is excited to announce it has recently won three awards, spotlighting three separate aspects of the organization’s work. The awards come from two prestigious organizations: The Telly Awards, founded in 1979 to honor the best work worldwide in the video medium, and the Fair Media Council (FMC), also founded in 1979 and recognized as one of the oldest, most successful media watchdogs in the country.

The FMC Folio Awards originated over 40 years ago and have become known as the gold standard for the modern media landscape, celebrating national, New York regional and Long Island exceptional news stories as well as digital works that educate, inspire, and enlighten the community. Discover Long Island won two Folio Awards this year:

The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Receiving over 13,000 entries globally from 6 continents and all 50 states. Discover Long Island was awarded a Bronze Telly Award for the organization’s “You BeLONG” video campaign, which highlights the unique, authentic stories of a diverse selection of Long Islanders, explaining why they feel they BeLONG on Long Island.
