Airplane on Final Approach to LaGuardia Airport Struck by Laser, Officials Say

Plainview, NY - June 21, 2017 - The Nassau County Police Department reports an Unusual Incident that occurred on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 12:02 am in the Plainview/Old Bethpage area.
 
Nassau County Police Department received a call from the New York Air Traffic Controller about Delta Flight 737 which was flying westbound at approximately 3000 feet, 4 miles northwest of Republic Airport, Farmingdale
 
While on its final approach to LaGuardia Airport the airplane was struck several times by a green laser off the right side which may have come from the Plainview or Old Bethpage area. 
 
The flight continued to LaGuardia Airport without further incident and landed safely.
