Officials: North Babylon Woman Arrested for Driving With 49 License Suspensions

North Babylon, NY - June 21, 2018 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a woman on Wednesday, June 20 for driving with more than 40 license suspensions.
 
Highway Patrol Bureau Officer Philip Buzzanca pulled over a 2004 Hyundai Sonata on Prairie Drive in North Babylon at approximately 12:30 p.m. after he observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officer Buzzanca determined that the driver, Lashae Hammond, had a license that had been suspended 49 times on 11 different dates.
 
Hammond, 28, of North Babylon, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree. She was released on bail and scheduled for arraignment at a later date.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
