NCPD: Two Arrests Made in East Meadow During “Project 21” Crackdown on Sale of Tabaco to Minors

The First Precinct reports the arrest of two (2) individuals during the “Project 21” initiative, which targets the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors. The initiative was conducted on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 6:56 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to officers, First Precinct Special Patrols with the assistance of underage agents arrested the following individuals as a result of this operation: 
 
  • Sami Al-Ammari, 33, of 1763 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island sold tobacco products to a minor at King Smoke Smoke Shop located at 503A Newbridge Road. He is charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of Cannabis 3rd Degree and the Sale of Tobacco Products.  
  • Kiranpreet Kaur, 21, of Queens, sold tobacco products to a minor at Smoke Shop-Pipes and Stuff located at 2384 Hempstead Turnpike. She is charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, the Sale of Tobacco Products and Possession of Unstamped Cigarettes. 
 
Defendant Sami Al - Ammari was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket returnable on Monday, July 8, 2024 to First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead. Defendant Kiranpreet Kaur will be arraigned on Friday, June 21, 2024 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
