UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Upgraded to Warning in Nassau & Western Suffolk, Watch Still in Effect for Eastern LI

The NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch & a Hazardous Weather Outlook for both Suffolk & Nassau Counties.

Update - Tuesday, June 23rd, 6:15 PM - The National Weather Service has upgraded the Severe Thunderstorm Outlook to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for all of Nassau County, as well as Western Suffolk County. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is still in effect for Eastern Suffolk - please see the accompanying graphic for further details.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for both Suffolk and Nassau County today, which will stay in effect until 9 PM this evening. The Thunderstorm Watch also effects the boroughs, as well as Westchester, and much of the Tri-State Area. It is expected that minimally, there will be isolated strong to severe thunderstorms in the late afternoon on the East End, although there may be changes to the forecast as the storm develops.

Also in effect for both counties is a Hazardous Weather Outlook - the NWS warns that very strong gusts of wind and large hail stones which have the potential to damage property may plague the area tonight as part of the Thunderstorm.
