Brand New Comedy Club Opens in the Hamptons

Written by Lon Cohen  |  26. June 2023

Get ready to laugh your socks off at the grand opening of Sticks and Stones Comedy Club, the hilarious new year-round comedy hotspot in the heart of the Village of Southampton! Mark your calendars for the July 4th holiday weekend because this place is going to be a riot.

Tucked inside the sophisticated Southampton Cultural Center, Sticks and Stones Comedy Club is pulling out all the stops. They've got top-notch national headlining comedians and performers lined up to tickle your funny bone.

Prepare for two side-splitting shows every evening, at 7pm and 9:30pm. But that's not all! An hour before each show, they're throwing open their doors so you can mix and mingle in their art gallery, sip on refreshing drinks from The Clubhouse, and savor delectable farm-to-table treats from Southampton's very own Hen of the Woods.

The laughs kick off on Friday, June 30th, with the incredible Carmen Lynch (from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) headlining the show, accompanied by the hilarious duo of John Reynolds and Andy Pitz. Hosting the evening will be the one and only Joe Winchell, who knows how to keep the laughs rolling.

And that's just the beginning! On Saturday, July 1st, get ready for a comedy extravaganza featuring Jordan Rock (you may have seen him on Netflix and alongside Pete Davidson in 'Bupkis'). Joining him on stage will be the dynamic duo of Jeffrey Gurian and Ben DeMarco, with the incomparable Joe Winchell hosting the night.

But wait, there's more to this comedy club's story! Back in the 1980s, Southampton had a comedy club that was all the rage. A young Judd Apatow, the comedy writer/director extraordinaire, caught some incredible acts there as a teenager while his mom worked as a waitress. The legendary comedy manager, Rick Messina (known for handling Drew Carey and Tim Allen), used to run the show.

The brilliant minds behind the HBO-sponsored Hamptons Comedy Festival are the masterminds behind Sticks and Stones Comedy Club. With a solid reputation for showcasing comedy stars, headliners, and rising talent, these producers are no strangers to the comedy scene.

"At Sticks and Stones Comedy Club, we cherish creative expression like it's pure gold. Inspired by the fearless spirit of the late George Carlin, we're here to push boundaries, reveal truths, and keep you entertained while we grow, evolve, and forge ahead," declared the promoters on their website.

So, grab your friends and head over to 25 Pond Lane, Southampton, for a hilarious night out you won't forget. Need more info? Give them a ring at (917) 855-4828. Get ready to laugh until your sides ache!
