Suspected Cocaine Dealer Resists Arrest During Carle Place Traffic Stop, Cops Say

The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Westbury man that occurred on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 9:07 p.m. in Carle Place. 
 
According to Narcotics/Vice Squad Detectives, Officers performed a Lawful Vehicle and Traffic stop in the vicinity of Westbury Avenue and Jamaica Boulevard. 
 
Upon further investigation, Officers attempted to arrest defendant Steven B. Clark, 40, of 132 Albany Avenue. One Officer sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. He was transported to a local area hospital for treatment. 
 
Officers recovered multiple plastic bags, containing a white powdery substance, believed to be Cocaine from the defendant, along with items commonly used for packaging and selling narcotics. 
 
Defendant Clark is charged with six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, four counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Assault 2nd Degree. 
 
He was arraigned on Friday, June 23, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
