NCPD reports the arrest of Fidel Gomez of West Hempstead, 52, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Melville, NY - June 26, 2018 - The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a West Hempstead man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 8:50 p.m. in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, Fidel Gomez, 52, displayed a handgun during a motor vehicle disturbance with another motorist and left the scene.
 
Upon further investigation officers observed the subject operating a 2007 Honda Odyssey and a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop was conducted in front of the subject’s home. During the investigation officers observed a handgun in the subject’s vehicle. The subject was placed under arrest without incident and a handgun, along with a loaded magazine, was recovered.
 
Fidel Gomez is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
