Valley Stream, NY - June 27th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports an arrest for Assault that occurred on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 9:18 a.m. in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, the male victim, 23, while exiting a deli at 414 Bayview Avenue, Inwood, at 12:45 a.m., encountered an acquaintance, defendant Katrina Cruz, of 613 Rockaway Avenue, Valley Stream. Cruz threw at cup at the victim’s face and stabbed him in the stomach. The victim suffered injuries and was transported and treated at St. John’s Hospital. Investigation lead to the arrest of Cruz at her home.
The defendant Cruz is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree. She will be arraigned on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
