Baldwin, NY - June 29th, 2015 - Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a Fatal Auto Accident that occurred on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:45 pm in Baldwin.
According to detectives, while traveling westbound on Sunrise Highway and approaching the intersection of Central Avenue on his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle, the 20 year old operator became involved in a collision with a 2010 Dodge Journey that was being operated by a 71 year old female. The Dodge that was initially traveling eastbound on Sunrise Highway proceeded to make a left turn to head north on Central Avenue.
The motorcycle then collided with the passenger side of the vehicle causing him to be ejected and suffer multiple trauma injuries. After being transported to an area hospital the male victim succumb to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by a staff physician. The female operator was also transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Both the motorcycle and the car were impounded from the scene for brake and safety tests and the incident has been deemed to be accidental in nature.
