Update - June 30, 2015 - Jonathan Cardona-Hernandez, 16, of Central Islip, has been identified as the man who was found fatally shot in Central Islip earlier this morning.

Central Islip, NY - June 30th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man in Central Islip this morning.
Third Precinct police officers responded to Nicoll Avenue, south of Messina Street, after a 911 caller reported hearing shots fired at 5:50 a.m. When officers arrived, they discovered a man who had been shot lying on the street.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
