An individual was hit by a Long Island Rail Road train Monday morning in New Hyde Park, according to Metro Transit Authority representatives.
 
The incident took place at approximately 9:30 a.m., the MTA says. Currently there is no information available on the identity of the person struck or their condition.
 
The LIRR reports that there will be delays and cancellations to rail service in connection with the incident.
 
"Customers can expect cancelations and delays of 30-45 minutes of mainline trains due to a person on the tracks being struck by a train near New Hyde Park," a LIRR statement read.
