Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Blaze at Unoccupied Valley Stream Residence

Two firefighters suffered injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 pm in Valley Stream.
 
According to Detectives, Officers responded to a working house fire located at 1 Garland Lane. Upon arrival, Officers observed flames emanating from the residence. The building was unoccupied at the time. The Valley Stream Fire Department along with several additional Fire Departments responded to extinguish the fire. 
 
Two firefighters suffered injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment. No other injuries were reported. The building suffered moderate structural damage along with variant degrees of smoke, fire, and water damage throughout the building. 
 
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad Detectives responded to scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined and is deemed not suspicious at this time.
