LIGHT ACCUMULATING SNOW TUESDAY MORNING A fast moving system will bring a band of light snow to the area Tuesday morning. A coating to less than 1 inch of snow accumulation is forecast. Roads will become snow covered due to the recent cold weather resulting in slippery travel conditions. Anyone planning to travel Tuesday morning should use extra caution. The accumulating snow will quickly come to an end late morning through midday with temperatures rising into the middle and upper 30s in the afternoon.

LI Nets Partners with Long Island Cares for Free Lunch Kick-Off Event in Centereach

Recently, the Long Island Nets partnered with Long Island Cares to host kick-off event for Long Island Cares’ free lunch summer program. Together the organizations distributed free lunches and other giveaways to over 100 children at the Middle Country Public Library in Centereach, N.Y., with a special appearance by the LI Nets mascot, Dale the Eagle.
 
Long Island Cares is a local food bank that aims to improve food security for families on Long Island, and to help achieve self-sufficiency and educate the public on the consequences of hunger. The Long Island Cares’ free lunch program for children runs Monday through Friday beginning July 1 to August 30 from 11:30am-12:30pm at the Middle Country Public Library in Centereach.
