Deer Park, NY - July 5, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives and officials from the Town of Babylon Fire Marshal’s office are investigating a fire that killed a woman in Deer Park early this morning.

Suffolk County Police First Precinct officers on routine patrol observed smoke coming from the home located at 112 Pine St. at approximately 4:50 a.m. Multiple fire departments responded and upon entry, Eleanor Didea, 81, who lives at the home, was found deceased on the first floor of the home.

A preliminary investigation has determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.

The investigation is continuing.
