Hempstead, NY - July 4, 2015 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a Homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 04, 2015 at 4:41 am in Hempstead.

According to detectives, Victor Benitez, 28, of Hempstead was found lying on the ground in front of 426 Clinton Street.  The victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the torso.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:45 am.
