Man Seriously Injured When Firework Explodes in Hand, Officials Say
Gordon Heights, NY - July 5, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct officers responded to a call of a man seriously injured when a firework exploded in his hand in Gordon Heights on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
A 26-year-old Gordon Heights resident lit a firework while outside of the home on Wilson Ave. and the man lost three fingers when the firework exploded in his left hand at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The man was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
