AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for the following counties: Nassau and Suffolk. Until 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Garden City Park, NY - July 6, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a robbery that occurred in Garden City Park on Wednesday, 07/05/17 at 11:15 A.M.
 
According to Robbery Squad detectives, a male subject, armed with a knife, entered Twin Parks Pharmacy located at 2226 Jericho Tpke., approached the pharmacist, and demanded OxyContin. The victim complied and the subject fled the scene with an undetermined amount of prescription pills. There was one additional employee present in the pharmacy at the time of the robbery. No customers were in the store.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The subject is described as a male Hispanic, 19-25 years of age, 6’-6’2” tall, thin build, with tattoos on his neck, chest and arms.
