Now through August 31, 2014, Long Islander are encouraged to cast their votes for their favorite "Savvy Senior" citizens for AGES' 2014 Savvy Senior Day.

Long Island, NY - July 8, 2014 - Get a jump-start this summer on election season by voting for your favorite Savvy Senior!  The Association of Generational Experts for Seniors (AGES) is accepting nominations for “Savvy Senior” citizens, now through Sunday, August, 31, 2014. Each senior submitted will be considered a candidate for 2014’s Savvy Senior King and Queen, who will be announced and crowned at AGES’ Fifth Annual Savvy Senior Day on Grandparents Day Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Parker Jewish Institute in New Hyde Park, NY from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participating in the coronation of this year’s Savvy Senior King and Queen will be last year’s King, Frank Zizzo of Levittown, and last year’s Queen, Rose Laccone of Whitestone. All nominated seniors will be publicly recognized, with this year’s King and Queen receiving gift certificates toward professional studio portraits, compliments of Bradford Renaissance Portraits. Live music will be provided throughout the event by the five piece band Pazazz.

“Long Island is made up of so many wonderful seniors who have not only made but continue to make tremendous impact within our communities,” says Kevin Lawrence, AGES Chairman. “It is so rewarding to see Savvy Senior Day entering its fifth year and it having become such a highly anticipated annual tradition for so many Long Island families. Each year, we are touched by the many families who take the time to nominate and look forward to casting that much deserved spotlight on their special seniors. We encourage everyone out there to vote for their senior and to join us in this special, celebratory event.”                                           

In 200 typed words or less, individuals can submit their favorite senior, along with a photo or video, to: AGES Savvy Senior Award, AGES P.O. Box 774, Melville, NY  11747.
