Second Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead woman for Assault that occurred on Sunday, July 07, 2019 at 1:50 a.m. in Jericho.
 
According to Detectives, officers responded to the Meadowbrook Motor Lodge, 440 Jericho Turnpike for a disturbance. Upon arrival officers observed two females fighting in the hallway of the motel. An investigation determined the defendant, Crystal Poole, 24, attacked the victim, 26, with a knife before locking herself in the victim’s room with her two children. Officers were able to gain entry into the room and place the defendant into custody. The victim’s children were not harmed. The victim sustained knife wounds to her head and chest area, as well as bite wounds to her leg. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries and is in stable condition. The knife was recovered at the scene.
 
The defendant Crystal Poole has been charged with Assault 1st Degree, two (2) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree. She will be arraigned on Monday, July 8, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
