SCPD: Bay Shore Man Busted for DWI after Hit and Run Crash Injures Motorcyclist and Passenger

Shirley, NY - July 9, 2018 - Suffolk County Police arrested a man for DWI and leaving the scene of an accident after his vehicle struck a motorcycle and another car in Shirley on Sunday, July 8.
 
Deris Medlock was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on William Floyd Parkway near Lyndale Court when the vehicle left the roadway. When he attempted to return to the roadway, the Equinox struck a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a 2017 Honda CRV that were travelling northbound at approximately 9:25 p.m. on July 8. Medlock fled the scene in the Equinox eastbound on Lyndale Court when he crashed into an unoccupied parked car in the driveway of the residence located at 45 Lyndale Court.
 
A passenger on the motorcycle, Rose Pesce, 54, of Shirley was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the motorcycle, her husband, Christopher Pesce, 58, of Shirley was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries. Medlock was transported to Long Island Community Hospital with minor injuries. The four people in the Honda were not injured.  
 
Medlock, 31, of Bay Shore was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He is being held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip in the morning.
 
All three vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
