Suffolk County Legislature Minorite Leader Jason Richberg recognized Dr. Tia Knight Forbes of ITAV-NP Family Health in North Amityville as the 15th Legislative District's 2024 "Healthcare Hero" at the legislature’s general meeting on Tuesday, June 25 in Riverhead.

Suffolk County designated the month of June as “Healthcare Heroes Month” in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic (IR1085-2021) to acknowledge the inspiring and selfless contributions of our frontline workers who cared for others at a time of great uncertainty and put the well-being of the residents of Suffolk County ahead of their own personal safety. Every June, each county legislator designates a Healthcare Hero representing his or her respective legislative district, and each honoree is recognized at a general meeting of the legislature in honor of “Healthcare Heroes Month” in Suffolk County.

“I’d like to thank Dr. Tia Knight Forbes and all of our Healthcare Heroes for their tireless efforts helping to keep our communities healthy and thriving,” said Legislator Richberg. “Dr. Knight-Forbes is a pillar of the North Amityville community who is truly worthy of recognition. Her story of returning to her hometown to open her practice and give back to her community needs to be shared, and I’m thrilled to be able to recognize her.”

Dr. Tia Knight-Forbes is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in preventative primary care for families.
