Fifth Squad Detectives report the arrest of a Lakeview man for two seperate incidents of Assault that occurred on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 8:50 pm and Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 1:28 pm, both arrests taking place in Lakeview.
According to detectives, police responded to a Ronkonkoma Avenue residence on July 7 for a domestic disturbance. Upon police arrival, Jair Dixon, 24, barricaded himself inside the home, refusing to allow the officers inside the house to investigate. The officers were eventually able to gain entry to the home and discovered that Dixon had punched a hole in the basement door and damaged the window air conditioning unit. While officers attempted to place Dixon into custody, he resisted, ignoring officers verbal commands.
The officers were eventually able to secure the defendant and as a result of the defendant’s actions, a police officer sustained an injury to their left wrist. The injured officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
Defendant Jair Dixon was charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
According to Detectives, Dixon violated an order of protection by entering the victims residence at the same location yet again on July 8. Upon Police arrival, Officers attempted to place Dixon into custody. Two Officers sustained injuries during the course of the arrest as the defendant was violent and combative while resisting arrest. Officers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment and released.
In connection with this incident, defendant Jair Dixon is charged with two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree, and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
