Nassau County Executive Laura Curran recently filed legislation to make Active Duty Military, Reserves and National Guard eligible to receive discounts at the County’s parks and on park activities. This expands on 2018 legislation delivering discounts to veterans on Nassau parks programs and services as well as a reduced cost for the Nassau County Leisure Passport.
“The members of our Military, National Guard and Reserves put their lives on the line to protect our Country and fight for the freedoms we hold dear. Offering them the same discounts as Veterans to our parks and parks programs is just a small symbol of our appreciation of their service,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
“County Executive Curran continues to deliver for the men and women who serve our nation by expanding the generous parks benefits given to Veterans to our active duty military members. I thank the County and County Executive Curran for always doing the right thing for our Vets and troops,” said Ralph Esposito, Director of the Nassau County Veterans Services Agency.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran also recently announced that all County parks will now accept the New York State Lifetime Liberty Pass. The Lifetime Liberty Pass allows free and discounted access to parks, golf and more to qualifying disabled Veterans. Veterans can get more information here: https://parks.ny.gov/admission/lifetime-liberty-pass.aspx.
