In addition, some less traveled secondary roads may still have some residual snow. The winds increasing and becoming gusty may partially dry out residual moisture, but some icy spots will likely remain especially in locations with less wind. If encountering these conditions, proceed with extra caution. Drive extra slowly and allow for more space between vehicles.

NCPD: Elderly Bicyclist Sustains Injuries after Struck by Vehicle in Massapequa

According to police, a 70-year-old male bicyclist was crossing southbound on North Linden Street when he was struck by a 2022 grey Buick suburban.

The Public Information Office reports the details of a Vehicular Accident that occurred on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 9:51 a.m. in Massapequa. 
 
According to police, a 70-year-old male bicyclist was crossing southbound on North Linden Street. He was struck by a 2022 grey Buick suburban being operated by a 74-year-old female that was traveling eastbound on North Linden Street. 
 
The vehicle swerved off the roadway into a small body of water. 
 
The male bicyclist sustained minor injury and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver remained at scene. 
 
The investigation is ongoing.
