Pedestrian Killed in Brentwood Crash

Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Brentwood last night.

Brentwood, NY - July 14th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Brentwood last night.

A 25-year-old Brentwood man was driving a 2014 Nissan Versa eastbound when he struck a 68-year-old pedestrian at approximately 10:25 p.m.  The pedestrian was attempting to cross Suffolk Avenue from the north side of the street to the south, between Eastern Avenue and Willoughby Street, when he was struck.

The victim was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The driver of the Versa was not injured.
