Massapequa Man Robs Carvel

The Seventh Squad reports the details of a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 8:15 pm in Massapequa.
 
According to detectives, Nicholas Roca, 32, of 400 Carman Mill Road, entered the Carvel located at 5596 Merrick Road and approached a male employee, 20, while displaying a knife. He then removed cash from the store register and fled the scene. Police were notified and officers were able to locate Roca a short distance away. After a brief foot pursuit, he was placed into custody. There were no injuries
reported.
 
During a subsequent investigation, detectives also recovered a clear glass pipe containing a burnt substance believed to be crack cocaine.
 
Defendant Nicholas Roca is charged with Robbery 1 st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4 th Degree, Menacing 2 nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7 th Degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.
