NCPD Crime Alert: Uniondale Arson Under Investigation

Uniondale, NY - July 15th, 2014 - Arson/Bomb Squad detectives are investigating an attempted burglary with arson that occurred in Uniondale on Monday, 07/14/14 at 9:45 P.M.

According to detectives, a female victim, 58, while in the bedroom of her residence on Arcadia Ave., heard her doorbell ring and then someone knocking on the door. She was afraid so she did not answer the door.  A short time later she heard someone at the rear of the house and a window screen ripping. She called 911 and then went downstairs.  She entered the dining room and discovered a napkin burning on the floor below a window with a ripped screen.  Police arrived and searched the area with negative results.  It was then discovered that the rear door had been broken when the subject attempted to force it open.
