Attorney Thomas Foley Elected Dean of the Nassau County Bar Association Academy of Law
Mineola, NY - July 18, 2017 - Thomas J. Foley of Massapequa has been elected the 24th Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association and the largest provider of Continuing Legal Education on Long Island. Foley is a partner at Foley Griffin, LLP in Garden City, where he concentrates in personal injury law.
The Nassau Academy of Law, an accredited provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys by the New York State CLE Board, is the largest provider of CLE classes on Long Island. Each year, the Nassau Academy of Law organizes and presents more than 180 substantive legal seminars in dozens of practice areas to educate attorneys on the newest developments in the law and to provide the practical skills to enable attorneys to effectively represent their clients.
Thomas Foley earned his law degree at St. John's University School of Law. After serving as a prosecutor in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, he joined with Brian Griffin to open their own law firm in Mineola, Foley Griffin, LLP, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Foley is an active member of the Nassau County Bar Association's Technology and Practice Management, Plaintiff's Personal Injury and General and Solo and Small Law Practice Management committees. Foley also serves on the Board of Directors for St. John's Law School Alumni Association and is the past president of the Nassau Chapter. He teaches as an adjunct professor at both St. John's law school and Tobin School of Business.
An active community volunteer, Foley is the president of the St. Rose CYO program in Massapequa, which provides sporting opportunities for more than 3,000 children every year. He also founded the annual Massapequa Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
