A new Haitian restaurant called Pops And Poosh Caribbean Kitchen opened in Baldwin.
The menu features Haitian patties with chicken, beef, cod fish, herring, veggie or conch (all $13 per dozen except conch which is $25 per dozen).
Their daily plates include many choices including fried pork ($15), fried goat ($20), stewed chicken ($15), conch ($22), fried fish ($25 for 1.5lbs and $30 for 2lbs), sauteed fish ($25 for 1.5lbs and $30 for 2lbs), and stewed vegetables ($13).
They also have weekend specials.

Their Friday Fritay menu (fried sweet potatoes, plantains, chicken, fritters, and accra with your choice of pork ($16), fried goat ($21), or fish ($25 for 1.5lbs and $30 for 2lbs). Their Saturday specials include vegetable soup ($9), vegetable goat soup ($11), and corm mrean with beans with choice of beef ($15), fish ($25 for 1.5lbs and $30 for 2lbs), and conch ($22). Sunday specials are vegetable squash soup ($9), rice with black mushroom with peas and choice of pork ($17), goat ($22), fish ($25 for 1.5lbs and $30 for 2lbs), and conch ($23).

On Yelp, Rebecca M, from Levittown, found Pops And Poosh on the Grubfather website.
“I came across this dope new Haitian spot in Baldwin today,” she wrote. “I can't say enough about how great everything was from the friendly service, how quick it was ready, and the FLAVOR… You need to check out this family owned spot ASAP.”
Bianca B, from Rockville Centre, also found the restaurant online through Instagram.
“I literally live 20 feet away from a Haitian restaurant but I chose to travel 20 mins away,” she wrote. “It's a family owned business. Customer service was on point. I felt like family.”
