Today, Dave Calone, a former prosecutor and a business leader running for Suffolk County Executive, announced that he has raised another $1.1 million in the 6-month financial filing period that concluded on July 13, 2023. This brings the total raised for the campaign to $2.8 million, with roughly $2.4 million cash on hand – the largest ever cash on hand in a July filing for a nominee in a contested Suffolk County Executive race.

Calone's support in the period comes from nearly 1,000 donations, 70% of which came from within Suffolk County and 90% of which came from New Yorkers.

Most impactfully, Calone ends the July reporting period with nearly $1 million more in the bank than his opponent.

“I continue to be deeply humbled by the outpouring of support from across Suffolk County” said Dave Calone. “There’s a clear enthusiasm across our county to elect a leader with a background in law enforcement and business to tackle the challenges we face, most crucially, keeping our families safe, making Suffolk a more affordable place to live, and protecting our environment and water.”

“This November, the voters will have a clear choice for who should lead our county, between Ed Romaine, who has been a politician for nearly 40 years and contributed to high taxes, and Dave Calone, who is a former prosecutor, a business leader, and a proven problem solver for the county” said Suffolk County Democratic Chairman Rich Schaffer. “And Dave is raising the resources and building the serious campaign to deliver his message to the voters come November.”

Calone's filing includes robust support from a broad spectrum of stakeholders in Suffolk County, including unions, business leaders, law enforcement professionals, and community advocates. He continues to build the resources and the unifying coalition necessary to win this November’s election for County Executive.
