At the luxurious Vanderbilt apartments and hotel, Juniper restaurant opened in May, named for the fauna that grows on the property.
The menu features a raw bar with oysters, shrimp cocktail, half lobster, king crab and two seafood platters (MP). Appetizers include chilled spring pea soup with cucumber, English peas, and labne ($10), a fava bean dip with avocado, lemon oil, and pita ($13) and a fluke crudo with tomato aguachile, snow pea, and basil ($20).

Entrees on the menu include a spring vegetable risotto ($24), Long Island crescent duck breast ($35), and short ribs ($33). The grill offers grilled eggplant ($22), caraflex cabbage “steak” ($22), Spanish seabass ($36), and spiced kurobuta pork chops ($34), among other items.
On Thursdays they have a live DJ starting at 6:30pm.
On Yelp, RY P, from Great Neck, gave it five stars.
“Great attentive service and beautiful space,” she wrote. “The Caesar salad was excellent as was the Burrata and beet salad. My friend loved the sea bass and my burger was delectable. The thick maple bacon made it perfect!!! Great fries too. Looking forward to going back soon!!!"
Gina I, from Williston Park, agreed and said she couldn’t get enough.
“We have been here twice for dinner, looking forward to my next meal,” she said. “The food is amazing. Everything from the bread to the dessert. Cocktails are spot on.”
