PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank thank the Three Village community for its kindness and generosity. Despite intermittent downpours, high heat and uncomfortable humidity, dozens of community members came out to PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island food collection on Friday, July 12, in South Setauket. They donated 2,500 pounds of food, personal care items and pet supplies, plus $1,300 in cash donations – in total, the equivalent of 4,500 meals.
As a thank you for contributing, PSEG Long Island employee-volunteers handed out reusable shopping bags and money-saving LED lightbulbs – gifts that help preserve the environment and conserve energy.
Friday’s event was one of seven Stop & Shop collection sites in the summer-long food drive initiative.
