Greenport, NY - July 21, 2017 - A 23 year old Greenport man pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today in Riverhead criminal court on one charge of second degree murder, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said.
Jaime DeLeon-Tito, 23, was arrested July 11 for the strangulation murder the night before of 27 year old Michelle Schiavoni.
The victim was found dead in her home on Second Street in Greenport on July 10.
State Supreme Court Justice Richard Ambro ordered DeLeon-Tito held on one million dollars cash bail, or two million dollars bond.
DeLeon-Tito returns to court on August 17.
