Islip, NY - July 23rd, 2013 - PenAir will begin daily nonstop service between Boston and Islip MacArthur Long Island Airport on July 25, 2013 with 2 flights daily. The 50-minute nonstop flights will depart Boston for Islip in the early morning and return back in the early evening, giving customers the opportunity to complete their business and be home in the evening the same day.
PenAir will host a ribbon cutting ceremony upon the arrival of its inaugural flight on July 25th at 8:20 a.m. at the Islip MacArthur Airport. Chief Operating Officer Dave Hall, along with several PenAir employees and crew, will be available for the inaugural celebration.
“We are excited to begin service into this market and to bring our brand of customer service to Long Island”, said Hall. “We are an established 57-year old Alaskan company, and we are very proud of our levels of service, safety and reliability. Our 34-seat Saab 340 aircraft are a perfect fit for the market between MacArthur and our new hub at Boston,” said Hall.
PenAir is offering introductory one-way fares from $119.00 (inclusive of tax) for travel from July 25th through Labor Day weekend. This introductory fare is available online at penair.com or by calling the PenAir Central Reservations line at 800-448-4226.
“Our plan is to start with two daily round-trips and add additional flights as the demand builds”, said Hall. “We also operate flights out of Boston to Presque Isle, Maine, Plattsburgh, New York and seasonally to Bar Harbor, Maine.
