Attorney Mili Makhijani Elected Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law

Mineola, NY - July 22, 2016 - Attorney Mili Makhijani of East Northport has been elected the 23rd Dean of the Nassau Academy of Law, the educational arm of the Nassau County Bar Association. Makhijani is Counsel with the firm of Mejias Milgrim & Alvarado, PC in Glen Cove, where she practices family law and matrimonial law. She also litigates federal cases in the areas of plaintiff’s employment law and issues involving the Hague Convention.

In addition, the following attorneys were elected to Academy leadership positions: Associate Dean Thomas J. Foley of Foley Griffin, LLP, Garden City; Assistant Deans Daniel W. Russo of Foley Griffin, LLP, Garden City;  Jaime D. Ezratty of Ezratty, Ezratty & Levine, Mineola; Anthony Michael Sabino of Sabino & Sabino, Mineola; Secretary Mary P. Giordano of Franchina & Giordano, PC, Garden City; Treasurer Terrence L. Tarver, Garden City; and  Counsel Christine T. Quigley, Rockville Centre.

The Nassau Academy of Law is an accredited provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for attorneys by the New York State CLE Board and is the largest provider of CLE classes on Long Island. Each year, the Nassau Academy of Law organizes and presents more than 180 substantive legal seminars in dozens of practice areas to educate attorneys on the newest developments in the law and to provide the practical skills to enable attorneys to most effectively represent their clients.

Mili Makhijani earned her law degree at Touro Law School. She was a trial attorney, Assistant Law Clerk to Justice Randy Sue Marber in Nassau County Supreme Court, as well as concentrated in the areas of complex pharmaceutical multi-district litigation, professional liability, employment and medical malpractice defense. 

In addition to her professional experience, Makhijani served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Touro Law School. A long-standing member of the Nassau County Bar Association, she is a frequent lecturer and chaired the Annual Jackie E. Stack Moot Court Competition for the last several years.
