AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 11 PM EDT MONDAY The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam. from 11 AM to 11 PM EDT Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone. The Air Quality Index, or AQI, was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated, the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young, and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Port Jefferson Man Arrested for Allegedly Allowing Underage Drinkers at House Party

SCPD have arrested Peter Crawford, 20, for hosting a party at his residence in Port Jefferson where there was underage drinking on Saturday, July 21.

Port Jefferson, NY - July 24, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a man for hosting a party at his residence in Port Jefferson where there was underage drinking on Saturday, July 21, 2017 at 11:16 p.m.
 
Sixth Precinct Patrol officers responded to a complaint of a loud party at 112 Dogwood Lane at approximately 11:15 p.m. When police arrived, there were approximately 60 underage people at the residence, and underage drinking was observed.
 
Police arrested and charged the host, Peter Crawford, 20, with violating the Social Host Law. He was transported to the Sixth Precinct, where he was released on bail. Crawford is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 9. 
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
