Queens Man Arrested for Burglarizing Valley Stream Macy's Store 7 Separate Times, Police Say

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 7:01 am in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for a male inside of Macy’s located at 1000 Green Acres Mall, prior to business hours.  The subject was observed forcibly opening multiple registers in the store and removing the contents.  Ramel Payne, 19, of 141-41 255th Street, exited the building using a fire exit and was arrested. 
 
During the investigation it was determined Payne was responsible for six (6) additional Burglaries at the same location.
 
Defendant Payne is charged with seven (7) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at First District Court, Hempstead.
