A former aide to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and current New York Governor Kathy Hochul was searched by the FBI on Tuesday, according to reports.

The reason for the search of the home of Linda Sun - who as of yet has not been accused of a crime - was carried out has not yet been disclosed by the FBI, with a spokesperson merely responding to media inquiries by stating that that agency's operatives “conducted court-authorized law enforcement activity in Manhasset.”

Sun occupies a pricey $3.5 million home in the Stone Hill gated community that she originally bought with her husband, Chris Hu, in 2021; in early 2024, the home was placed by the couple into a trust.

Sun has 15 years of experience working in NY state-level government, ranging from serving as a lawmaker's chief of staff to holding positions in the Andrew Cuomo administration before ascending to Hochul's deputy chief of staff.

She departed that post in late 2022 for a job at the New York Department of Labor, but reports indicate that she left just months later following undisclosed allegations of misconduct that sparked a potential law enforcement investigation.

Sun would later go on to work as the manager of the campaign an unsuccessful Long Island Congressional candidate.

Hochul's office has declined to comment on the search.
