Cake Fairyland, a bakery specializing in pastries, puffs, cakes, coffee, tea, slushies, milkshakes and more, had its grand opening earlier this month. Town officials were on-hand to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new bakery in the Coventry Commons Center in Stony Brook.

Some popular items on the menu include their Japanese Cheesecake ($7.25), Rainbow Crepe ($11.85), and the Strawberry Box Cake ($16).

Sparse and clean with a few tables for sitting, the bakery is just getting started. Their website isn't finished yet but the online reviews are good.

On Yelp, Stephanie G, from Farmingville, gave it five stars and called it a “beautiful desert, coffee and tea shop.”

“We had a strawberry crepe cake that was delicious and light as air,” she wrote. “The drinks come in the most adorable animal cups. We had the strawberry fruit tea w/boba. It was great and my decaf latte was delicious.”

Lizzie V, from Stony Brook, said the highlight of her visit was the taro puff.

“The puff was delicious and the texture was perfect, a little crunchy at the top thanks to the caramelized sugar, the rest of pastry [sic] was nice and soft. The cream filling was really tasty too,” she wrote. “I also got a pork floss pastry that was actually really good! I wasn't sure what to expect. It had a nice balance between sweet and salty (it was mostly savory with a hint of sweet, I recommend it).
