A new gourmet sandwich shop called The Artisan opened up in Patchogue recently, serving up specialty deli sandwiches .
According to the website, The Artisan was developed by Jason Tepper, “executive chef and mastermind behind most of Patchogue’s top restaurants.”
“Every menu item is crafted with an emphasis on freshness and taste, rein-visioning the modern West Coast style deli with an East Coast vibe,” the website describes.
Sandwiches include My Jewish Father a house smoked corned beef, pastrami, swiss cheese, coleslaw, and spiced mustard on toasted marcle rye ($13), the Piggy Smalls, smoked pork belly, citrus pulled pork, crispy applewood smoked bacon, bacon jam, red slaw, and cilantro on a brioche ($14), and the Classic Southern Bell, signature spiced buttermilk and pickled brined fried chicken, spiced local honey, pickle chips, and mayo on brioche ($12).
On Yelp, Guido I, from Middle Island, gave The Artisan’s sandwiches high praise.
“Wow, I don't even know where to begin on this one,” he wrote. “I really wish I could tell you not to visit the artisan in Patchogue in hopes of keeping the lines short, but unfortunately I can not be that selfish. Do yourself a favor and don't walk but run to this establishment as fast as you can.”
